Hennai Modern Home

No Amazon Links, No Corporate Greed—Just a Better Way to Create a Home

Most home sites today? They’ve all been swallowed up by the same giant company. They look the same, they read the same, and they exist to push Amazon links. That’s not what I want for Hennai. Things have to change.

Hennai is here to help you create a home you love—without feeling like you need to constantly buy something new. Expect DIY projects that save you money, highlight sustainable brands that don’t suck, and resources for making intentional choices.

I also believe in consuming less, keeping things out of landfills, and making the most of what we already have. That doesn’t mean slapping some chalk paint on something and calling it a day—it means learning how to upcycle and reuse things in a way that actually looks beautiful and functions well. Thoughtful choices, not fast trends.

I feature brands that actually deserve your dollars—small businesses run by real people whose lives you can impact in meaningful ways. I do use affiliate links, because, well, I need to make a living too. But I have a strict vetting process and refuse to work with companies that are doing harm (if you’re cutting DEI or your CEO has lost his mind, you won’t find them here).

I also want to bring more of this into the local community in El Cerrito. If you have a small home project you’re scared to tackle, I’d love to help. I’d like to do a free monthly garden bed makeover, too. Maybe even host some backyard craft-night parties, who knows?!

And Hennai is only getting started. I’ve recently added a garden section to the site, and I’m expanding into personal finance topics—things like how to live within your means without giving up the things you love, how to maximize credit card rewards, and how to make mindful money choices. I’m also diving into more lifestyle content, like the absolute chaos of making new friends in your 40s and what to do when you find out you have hereditary predisposition for heart disease. Very specific I know. I’ve been figuring out how to eat well without missing out—and I’ll be sharing some of my favorite recipes too.
