Fillgood | Story

Stéphanie created Fillgood after taking a class on recycling and learning that not all plastic can even be recycled and recycling isn’t the best way to reduce how much stuff sits in landfills across the world. Then Fillgood was born, a zero waste alternative to product packaging. Her philosophy is all about designing, producing and consuming without waste as an end product.

Some of My Favorite Products from Fillgood

Fillgood | Why they Matter

I’ll admit that when I first learned about Fillgood and started shopping there I thought, wow I am such a Californian now. But after watching the product selection grow and realizing it’s so much more than just getting soap refills I realized I was wrong. Everyone should consider switching some of their everyday products that we just keep buying over and over again.

You can bring your own containers to get filled or they also have clean jars for you if you just want to pop in and aren’t really prepared. I went for some laundry detergent and used a cute 64 oz glass apple juice jug, but realized I also needed dishwasher detergent, and they popped it in a clean pickle jar for me.

You can find everything from soaps for literally anything (laundry, kitchen, bathroom etc), to makeup (I am currently trying out plastic free mascara), compostable band aids, and refillable dental floss and mouthwash.

We know that we can’t all just switch to plastic free alternatives and save the planet. We also need regulations way further up the supply chain to be fixed as well, but why not just do the right thing because you can and it’s honestly not that hard.
